So far this is all I have online but I am looking at professionally recording a few tracks later this year. If you like what you hear, please show your support by liking my Facebook page! Enjoy!

The More Beauty That I See, The More Beauty Comes To Me

jiveny | February 7, 2013

I wish I was blogging here more, however, I am currently working on a book and enjoying some down time with my parents. Plus, the last few months I’ve been traveling around Central America, immersing myself in the moment, seeing beautiful places and spending time with even more beautiful people.

Anyway, in the interim, I thought I’d share this poem I wrote at burning man last year with you.

I am the beauty.

The more beauty I see

the more beauty comes to me.

We find each other

when our eyes are equally open

and our minds equally ready

to accept all the beauty,

wonder and grace that we are.

Generosity is the only way to express

this gratitude that permeates all that is,

shedding light on what it means

to be alive

and witness us.

LAUGH

jiveny | June 18, 2011

Laugh.

Like a child in ignorant bliss,

Curious and removed

From Humanity’s absurdities.

You know the secrets of the universe;

If you’d only look deep inside.

Ask any question.

And breathe,

Long and deep

For the universe awaits.

Patiently

At your fingertips

Inviting you to play.

Awake

jiveny | April 28, 2011

“Awake.

Shake dreams from your hair
my pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
the day’s divinity
First thing you see.

A vast radiant beach and cooled jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it’s quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.

Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
the time has come again
choose now, they croon
beneath the moon
beside an ancient lake

Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
everything is broken up and dances.

Indians scattered,
On dawn’s highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child’s,
Fragile eggshell mind

We have assembled inside,
This ancient and insane theater
To propagate our lust for life,
And flee the swarming wisdom of the streets.

The barns have stormed
The windows kept,
And only one of all the rest
To dance and save us
From the divine mockery of words,
Music inflames temperament.

Ooh great creator of being
Grant us one more hour,
To perform our art
And perfect our lives.”

- Jim Morrison, Ghost Song

How often do we sacrifice our truth in the name of societal convention?

jiveny | April 20, 2011

Whether you choose to drink a small coffee or large coffee,

drink skim milk, full cream or green tea,

indulge in drugs & alcohol

or enjoy a life of purity,

let your choices be an expression of who you are

& NOT tainted with the guilt or burden

of thinking that by dimming your light,

you could possibly make another feel better.

Surrender, Rebirth, Discovery.

jiveny | March 21, 2011

Surrender your soul to the waters of time

The truth that all is transient

Floating freely down the canal to rebirth

Cling to nothing; but delight in the ride

The truth is discovered now

Naked and bare

Raw to the eyes of the blind

The discovery

Of what it feels to be free

Unburdened

Not wet yet nor dry

Exist in this space

As you dwell in this place

Let feelings guide your reactions

For nothing is right

And nothing is wrong

Spare the truth of your own moral compass

Remember now

What you knew all along

The truth

Your soul

Is now opened

And with no remorse

Abandon your thoughts

And live freely

On instinct and feeling.

Xylophone Bones

jiveny | December 15, 2010

Rattle me, and my
Xylophone bones
It’s cold outside
All alone

Grandmother, Grandmother
Ancient and old
Tell me a story
Show me your soul…

The Amazon calls
A home with no walls
And now I can feel you
My creator, my maker

The purest desire
To touch with my hands
To play with the darkness
Experience contrast

So this is the joy
This is the answer
Consciously seeking
What my heart aches for.

So teach me to love
Teach me to care
Teach me to let go
Of the scars that I bear

What is it to feel?
To care what is real?
To be having these thoughts now
Unaware of their meaning

The vine of the soul
Taking me home
Embracing uncertainty,
I’m letting my guard down.

And I understand now
As you pour salt on my wounds
It stings like a snake bite,
Lying here breathing

But I am alive
In my own lucid dream
Passion like thunder
Alpha / Omega

Its time to evolve,
Live life and grow old
A thousand little deaths now
This is what I live for…

I’m aware of this life
I don’t live to survive
But because I want to
No longer an orphan

And with new awareness
Accepting the madness
I’m choosing to play now
This moment is mine.

Forget and remember
This is never ending
My truth is simple:
I am still breathing.

And it comes and It goes
It ebbs and it flows
The transitory nature
Of a life fully lived.

Meditation to live in the moment:

jiveny | June 30, 2010

Without the contrast the road would not be worth traveling…

Lost opportuinities are what they are. But, dont dwell on what is lost my child. The world is abundant. Chances will come again and again as the circle continues to turn.

Let go of your past; the stories you continue to hold on to. You place far to much meaning on your past.

You are now.
You are here.
You are nothing outside of this moment.

Knowing this, let go of your future, (if only for a moment).
The wishing, the wanting, the restless desire that keeps you from being happy now.
Be happy now.

Life is in the present moment. The sounds, imagery, sensations, tastes and smells that surround you. You are  everything and you are nothing; a wealth of possibilities.

Understand that there is no definitive you. You are the inexplainable; undefinable because you are not a static entity.  Rather, you are an ever changing, moving, (groovin’), evolving experiencer.

You are alive and you exist. That’s about as close as you will ever get to a comprehensive description of yourself.

Embrace this truth and the freedom it entails.

For if you are nothing and everything you have no name to live up to.

So let your guard down knowing that you simply are what you are.

Nothing Matters

jiveny | March 20, 2010

I escaped.
Went to the country.
Just me and my K9
Quiet…nature…space

I faced my fears
Of spiders and snakes
Of the world after dark
The sounds of creatures of the night
My fears of the unkown

I filled my pockets with ma-ca-dam-bia nuts
Beat my drum,
Danced barefoot in the forest…
Naked.

Read books,
Pondered life
Remembered:
There’s no need to
be
or do
ANYTHING.

Each night I created fire
“Man’s first magic”

Upon the damp grass,
Listening to music
I lay beneath the stary sky
In wonder and amusement

Thismorning I explored the outback like I was the only person alive…
Just me and the wind.
And so many butterflies…

The take home message
gifted by my island

Is that nothing really matters.

We give meaning to all the objects and experiences we come into contact with.
Much more meaning than any object or event truly deserves.

We label, categorize and justify, creating our reality.
But we are not objects.
Lest we forget.

We are consciousness

The space between objects.

The breath between thought.

The realized present moment.

Now.

We can’t define ourselves,
Hard as we try.
Nor should we.

“Words reduce reality to something the human mind can grasp, which isn’t very much.

As Buddhists say: the finger pointing to the moon is not the moon.

Likewise: “Thought [and word] can at best point to the truth, but it never is the truth.”

- A New Earth, Eckhart Tolle

Ribcage

jiveny | February 21, 2010

I took my heart out a lay it down on the sand
To take a breath with an empty ribcage
To understand what it is like to be alive.
To be here.
With you.

I stared straight into the sun
Despite all warnings.

I said to the sun, I said:
Sun, I love you.
And I don’t care what your light reveals.
I can invent myself, pretend to me more
But at the end of the day I just am.
And I’m okay with that.

“We trick ourselves into beleiving we need all this stuff.”
You said to me.
“But we don’t” I finished.

We’re both explorers of the world.
Free.
We have everything we need right here;
This vast world of adventures
Experiences and opportunities
There is enough.

You remind me of what I already know,
but fail to put into practice.

God,
You make me want to give up drugs and alcohol
- the more time to be with you.

We both took our hearts out
And laid them in the sand.
Breathing deeply with an empty ribcage.

“It’s good to be here” I said.

Alive and living.

“It’s good to be here” you agreed.
