One evening toward the close of her life, instead of cooking her evening meal, Trudi climbed onto her bicycle and rode out to a dilapidated mill that had not been rebuilt. There, her preceding night’s dream of her loving and ever-supportive father, recently dead, came back to her.
It hit her s0 strongly, that she crouched right where she was and brought her arms around her middle. The scent of chamomile enveloped her, and as she looked down, the tiny flowers were right in front of her, their yellow centers ringed by white petals.
The closer she looked, the more she saw, and the more she forgot herself and her pain and became part of something she couldn’t define, as if, by getting closer to a smaller world, she had found a larger world.
How many times had she longed for a world where she knew she belonged? How often had she imagined living on the island of the little people. Yet all she had needed was here, already here.
Pia had been right — this was where she belonged. Despite the horror of war. Because of its horror. Working with the underground and the fugitives had taught her what it was like to belong. That you could initiate it, built it, be it.

I love that Devendra Banhart is still a child.
I’ve resolved to watch (at least) one TED video for every day I spend on the computer.
This one is my favorite so far!
I just…I don’t know…I thought I’d share this with you because it’s inspired me…
I’m copying this straight out of a uni thing I did so bear with me…
One thing that I have had to consider as an environmentalist wanting to work in the advertising industry is how to act when given an account to work on that I don’t really agree with.
I remember hearing a story about a creative who got an account from Mc Donald’s.
While she wasn’t a fan of Mc Donald’s either she was still required to come up with an idea to promote the company. To compromise, she put forward that Mc Donald’s should only purchase and sell fair trade coffee. This was a very successful point of difference at the time as the idea of fair trade coffee was still new. And, because McDonalds is such a huge corporation, she was able to channel it’s buying power into a more environmentally positive direction. In addition, since this campaign many other large corporations such as Starbucks and Nestle have too decided to sell only fair-trade coffee in response to competition.
That to me is a perfect example of how I wish to be entrepreneurial in what I do. This woman could have rejected the account. But that would have done nothing – it would have been passed on to the next creative and the world would continue to consume Mc Donald’s. Instead she took the account as an opportunity to make a positive difference.
That leads me back to the saying: “you have to be in it a little to change it”.
New and exciting news:
I’ve finally gathered the courage to take on the Hello Sunday Morning challange for the next three months.
You can witness my journey here.
Peace, light and love

How do you teach one to love themself?

Hi I’m Jiveny, from Brisbane, Australia.
I have created this blog with a vision to share my wicked and raw thoughts. Just putting it all out there, for you to explore. See what you get out of it…
I plan to keep this blog as uncensored and open as possible. Please understand that growing is an ongoing process of learning. And I am documenting these thoughts as I learn. So bear in mind, older posts may not be accurate of who I am today. I will contradict myself (don’t we all at some point in time?) but i am happy for you to see that. It’s a human nature after all.
I believe ideas are the way of the future.
Like you, I have brilliant ideas.
Read them, accept or reject. I don’t care, but the book is open for you to consider.
This where I keep it real.
Enjoy.
